Arete is a concept in ancient Greek thought that, in its most basic sense, refers to "excellence" of any kind—especially a person or thing's "full realization of potential or inherent function." The term may also refer to excellence in "moral virtue." Wikipedia. Let’s break this shit out! ;-)
The A should be obvious. The dots probably less so. They represent limited, stale, progress-stalling thoughts inside the visible box. The lines are the pathways and struggles one endures find their own passion. The final dot outside the box reflects the moment excellence breaks out! Too often people and companies are help back by old and tired concepts and policies. Excellence can get trapped inside those boxed in cultures and practices. Arete takes courage, cooperation, perseverance and strength to achieve. Let's create the space for Arete to excel! Most likely, you are here because Scott led you here. And, most likely, you’ve seen his LinkedIn page already. Then, is this site necessary? Scott would tell you he’s not sure, but would add that there is the potential for a stronger initial connection by sharing more about how he thinks. In short, this site is a trial balloon released to see where the wind takes it and makes of it. ;-) |
